Effingham County Sportsman’s Club was founded in 1953 and operates on 180 acres, just east of Lake Sara.  We are located approximately two miles west of Effingham, Illinois, with access to the Club from the north on 1025th Street (Sportsman’s Drive).

If you don’t know how to find us, please click here.

We are a private (Members only), not-for-profit organization, that has a membership of over 600 individuals and families, from all walks of life.  Members have the use of all Club ranges during daylight hours, and night shooting on the shotgun ranges.  While we are a private club, membership is open.  Non-members are always welcome and encouraged to attend any of our organized events.

Organized events include Skeet, Trap, Rifle, Blackpowder, Archery and youth activities.  Special events such as Concealed Carry, Hunter Safety and Benefit Shoots are also held at various times throughout the year as well.

Before driving to ECSC to use any specific range please check the ECSC calendar to determine whether that range is open. The calendar is updated continuously.  Individual ranges may also be closed briefly from time-to-time because of unscheduled range maintenance or emergencies.

The Club is all volunteer operated, from event organizers to grounds care.  Members are encouraged participate in activities and any maintenance work that is required, in order to keep costs and membership fees low.  The Club is guided by a Board of Directors, who are elected from and by the general membership yearly, at the January meeting.  Board of Director meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month starting at 6:30pm at the Clubhouse.  Members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Official club news may also be obtained from bulletin boards located in the Clubhouse, on the Pistol Range and on the Rifle Ranges.
